Episode 59 (Season Premiere) "Coming Home"
--Joey and Pacey return from their summmer on the sea, they find that life has gone on without them, they ponder if Capeside was better off without them. We find that Henry is at boarding school, Pacey's sister, Gretchen returns to Capeside. Andie gets befriends two tourists, who give her a lesson in subtly. Dawson and Joey decide to take things slowly.
Episode 60 "Falling Down"
-- Pacey finds out that he out of hastee, after failing three of his previous year's classes. Henry dumps Jen through good friend Jack. Joey attains a job at the town's Tony yacht club, an haute bourgeoisie establishment. Dawson steps forth to help estranged Pacey through Joey. Joey befriends a possible new love interest in a yacht club member. Dawson shows potential interest in Pacey's sister. Pacey and Joey get through a turbulent aftermath of the first day of school and end to a memorable summer. 
Episode 61 "Two Gentlemen of Capeside" (The Storm)
-- Joey, Dawsom and Drew are assigned tto a joint English debate, Pacey takes his boat "True Love" out for the last voyage of the year with Jen. As a storm moves into Capeside, Jen and Pacey are caught up in a storm which. Seeing Joey in despair, Dawson sets jail to rescue "True Love". After a disapointing meeting Andie takes charge of a desperate situation at the yacht club. In the end Dawson saves Pacey's life, which leads to Pacey thanking Dawson, and appologizing for the previous spring. Also it appears that Jen knows Drew from New York. 
Episode 62 "Future Tense "
-- Drew throws Jen a "birthday" regardlless that it isn't her birthday. The gang goes through preliminary interviews regarding college, with the advisory, which trouble Joey. Jack injures himself during football practice, offsetting his hopes for the year to come. Andie has already applied to university and gets on everyones case about it. Jen realizes Drew hasn't changed since they last met. Pacey continues to lament over his scholarity, and shows Joey that she doesn't have to worry about leaving him behind. Dawson is hurt after watching Joey and Pacey's behaviour at the party, and confides his feelings to Gretchen, Leery's Fresh Fish's newest bartender. 
Episode 63 "A Family Way" 
-- Joey considers taking her relationshhip with Pacey to the next level after he grows impatient, she visits a free clinic for some advice about sex. Jen offers Joey advice about being ready for sex. Dawson's parents endure a similar situation when they learn that Dawson's mother is pregnant, and she considers an abortion. Dawson learns that Gretchen is in Capeside partially becasue she became pregnant last semester at college. Jack and Andie become peewee soccer coaches, and Jack experiences problems due to his sexuality. Dawson paying his dues for "borrowing" a boat for Pacey's rescue; with criticism about his photography.
Episode 64 "Great Xpectations"
-- Despite the fact that Andie has gainned early acceptance to prestigious Harvard University, she isn't happy. After discovering that Jen has ecstasy Andie convices Jen to let her try some. The gang goes to a rave, and trouble strikes, Andie speaks her mind to Pacey and Joey before she collaspes. Pacey stays at the hospital where Andie is recovering, and feelings for Andie seem to resurface. Dawson and Gretchen come to an agreement about remaining friends, and Joey has heart to heart with Dawson
Episode 65 "You Had Me At Goodbye"
-- Andie postpones returning to school after the incident and close call at the rave, during this time her and Pacey re-establish a lost friendship. Joey burdened with choosing "the person who knows me best", an essay for her college applications, is too busy to be bothered. Jen, is feeling lost, she has since been blamed for Andie's drug use. Andie gets offered to leave Capeside and go to Italy for the rest of the school year. The gang is tested in a whole new way, Andie's last gift to the group is a reunion of lost friends.
Episode 66 "THE USUAL SUSPECTS"
-- Dawson, Pacey and Jack are all calleed to the principal's office as prime suspects in a senior prank aimed at Principal Peskin after they are interrogated, they managed to protect each other while placing the blame on someone else. Jack gets fired from his job as a coach after making a critical decision, and Dawson earns a little insight into Mr. Brooks. Pacey and Dawson gain a little ground on their weak friendship.
Episode 67 "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"
-- Jack worries about Jen's failure to apply to college, he convinces Grams to help him, get Jen to change her mind. Dawson must rewrite his essay in his college submission, he comes up empty and turns to Brooks for help. Pacey accompanies Joey to a formal Worthington College students and he becomes centre stage for the Dean. Gretchen convinces Dawson's parents to let her organize their annual party. Dawson bonds with Brooks, as he discovers more from Brook's past. Joey and Pacey enter the Leary residence, just as Dawson and Gretchen share a magical kiss under the mistletoe.
Episode 68  "Self-Reliance"
-- Bessie and Bodie take a vacation, leeaving Joey in charge at the Bed & Breakfast. Between her duties at the B & B and Pacey, she has trouble finding time for herself. Moreover, she is trying to cope with her feelings about having seen Dawson kiss Gretchen, at the Leary's party. Pacey becomes convinced that Joey and Dawson need closure. Dawson's new project with Brooks begins to rejuvenate Dawson's interest in filmmaking. Jen takes Jack to a "Gay-Straight Coalition" meeting in the hopes that he'll meet some people in his position, she seems to get along with them better then Jack does.
Episode 69  "The Tao of Dawson"
-- The show opens with Dawson's confesssion to Pacey about his feelings for Gretchen. When the brother and sister go on a road trip to visit with her, he attempts to push her off Dawson's path. Pacey discovers that her boyfriend isn't the person he originally thought to be. Drue arranges to be "accidentally" locked in a storage room with Joey, in order to get out of a meeting with his father. In Capeside, Dawson worries that Grams is destined to lose another loved one sooner than she thinks, and contemplates telling her about Brooks' terminal illness. The conclusion of the show sees Gretchen and Dawson kissing, almost as invigorating as his first kiss with Joey at the end of season one.
Episode 70 "The Te of Pacey "
-- Joey and Pacey's parent's organize aa celebration for Pacey's 18th birthday. The party quickly becomes a dismal failure ranging from taunting Pacey, to Joey and Pacey stumbling on Dawson and Gretchen making out. Pacey reveils the secret to his bitterness, Dawson and Gretchen workout a problem faced in their new relationship. Finishing up her community dues, Jen is paired with Tobey, after an interesting night she discovers Tobey's feelings for Jack.
Episode 71"Hopeless "
-- Joey and Pacey are forced to spend tthe evening with Drue and a prestigious girl. In order to make sure that Drue is on his best behavior. Dawson and Gretchen go out on the town with her friends only to reveal the large gap in age between the two. Tobey extends an invitation to Jack to become more then friends. Brooks' condition worsens.
Episode 72 " A Winter’s Tale "
-- Dawson stays behind to look after Mrr. Brooks who lies on his death bed, while, the rest of the gang embarks on the senior ski trip. Dawson is faced with making a life or death decision. Jack and Jen do something that might have an impact on their friendship. While Pacey and Joey eventually make a decision that will have implications for shows to come.
Episode 73 "Four Stories"
-- Pacey and Joey wake up after an intiimate night of romance, to end up in a prank by drue. They awkwardly share their thoughts and feelings. Dawson return's from Brook's funeral to find out that he was an heir to Brook's estate. Dawson and Gretchen share some casual thoughts and Grams has a word with Dawson. Jen makes a visit to a shrink after her actions during the trip. Finally, two old friends reunite, a sentimental moment from the past turns to deception.Episode 74 *** 1/2 "Mind Games"-- Pacey and Joey spend some time alone together, Dawson finds his night alone with Gretchen more awkward than he'd expected, which leads to a confrontation he would have liked to avoid. Jen takes Jack to stalk her therapist. Joey's lie to Dawson creates further ramifications between her and Pacey.
Episode 75 "Admissions "
-- Joey receives an acceptance to the ccollege of her dreams, just to receive a heart-breaking disapointment. Dawson receives mixed returns, and Jack and Jen contemplate which university they want to go to. Dawson proposes a solution to Joey's probelm, which has Joey thinking about the moral implications. Jen confronts Drue about their past, after a session with her therapist. Joey confesses a secret to both Dawson and Pacey, Pacey has one of his own.
Episode 76 "Eastern Standard"
-- On senior ditch day, Pacey is left aat capeside high with Drue, Joey and Jen travel to New York city, and Dawson and Gretchen go out on a little adventure. Jen brings Joey to New York under false pretences, she confronts her father about the circumstances revolving around her expulsion to Capeside. Pacey is left at school writting tests until Drue takes him on a trip that ends up with the two of them in the back of a squad car. Dawson and Gretchen get stranded six hours away from capeside, and end up with a romantic encounter, that leaves their love life unresolved.
Episode 77 "Late"
-- Gale's due date comes and goes, she also has a few false alarms. Joey becomes destressed when she realizes that she might be pregnant, because she is late, and Pacey is not around to consul her. Dawson and Gretchen ponder the posibility of a long distance relationship. Toby falls victim to a homosexual hate crime, and Jack comes to his rescue with help and support.
Episode 78 "Promicide"
-- During the precursor to the prom, thhe gang has mixed feelings going into the momentous celebration. Gretchen contemplates issues regarding her age, and when she receives bad news goes into further turmoil. Jen and Jack find dates and interesting matchups for each other. Joey and Pacey, appear to be having problems, which lead to a disastrous conclusion. During the prom Joey and Pacey, and Dawson and Gretchen confront their relationship woes, resulting in break-ups. Jen wallows in her own self-pity, and after having too much to drink is rescued by her prom date when she almost falls overboard.
Episode 79 "Separation Anxiety"
-- In the aftermath of the prom break-uups, each couple tries one last shot at reconciliation, both without success. Pacey gets a disappointing offer from one of Joey's future deans. Gretchen hits the road towards a future without Dawson. Jen convinces Grams, to accompany her to Boston, after some coxing from Jack. In his own way, Jack helps Jen to rethink it.
Episode 80 "The Graduate"
-- It is graduation time, Joey gets wriiter’s block while writing her speech, and she goes to Dawson and A letter from her late mother for inspiration. Pacey is faced with the possibility of not graduating, and has a bittersweet encounter with his teacher. Andie temporarily returns to Capeside for the ceremony, upon her return she reunites with old friends and offers Pacey encouragement. Tobey and Jack talk about some insecurities. Drue and Jen get caught setting up a graduation prank, and have a few bonding moments.
Episode 81 "Coda" (Season 4 Finale)
-- Dawson is accepted early into a univversity program, and must say his goodbyes sooner then expected. Joey contemplates, and then expresses her melancholy to Dawson about his early departure. The remaining members of the gang spend one last night together, and as Dawson says goodbye to Capeside, so does Jen and Grams.
