Son Goku / Kakarotto

All three of the Dragonball series revolve around Goku. Born on Planet Vegeta, he cried non-stop, driving a fellow Saiya-jin, Brolli, insane. When he was still young, he was sent in a Space Pod to Earth, where he was expected to destroy all lifeforms. He was discovered by Gohan, a great martial arts master. While he was still trying to destroy everything, he fell and hit his head, removing all knowledge of his past, including his mission, behind him. He grows up, trained by his "Grandfather", and thinks nothing of his mission. One night during a full moon, Goku transformed into an Oozaru, and stepped on Gohan. He treasured the one thing left to him from Gohan, the four-star Dragonball.

The story begins when Bulma finds him with her Dragon Radar. She convinces him to help her find the rest of the Dragonballs, and he agrees. After saving a turtle, Goku meets up with Kame Sennin, and receives Kintoen, a magical flying cloud. The pair then sets off to look for the balls once again and meet Oolong, a panty-obsessed, shape-changing pig. They head through the desert together, where Goku gets challenged by Yamcha. The fight ends, and neither of them wins. They continue travelling, unknowingly followed by Yamcha. At Mount Frying Pan, Goku calls upon Kame Sennin to set out a blaze. Afterwards, he meets Chichi, who he promises to marry when he's older. He also masters the KameHameHa. Eventually, Pilaf steals their Dragonballs, but before he can wish, Oolong wishes for panties, saving the day. They escape a trap set by Pilaf, when Goku changes into an Oozaru, and after destroying Pilaf's castle, his tail is cut off.

Goku then travels back to Kame Sennin, and trains in preparation for the Tenkaichi Budoukai. After trying to find a 'bouncy girl', at which he fails several times, Goku is aided by the newly arrived Kuririn. The girl they finally bring back is Lunch, and Master Roshi moves them to a larger island so they have more space to train. They spend a long time with seemingly foolish tasks, but it indeed makes them stronger. By the end of the time, Goku wore a 40 lb. turtle shell to step up his training.

After they arrive at the Budoukai, Goku is in the final first round fight against Giran. It's not easy, but he wins. His next match was against Namu, who he easily defeated. In the final round, Goku faced Jackie Chun, who was really Kame Sennin in disguise. The fight was long and hard, but in the end, Goku's amazing strength proved too weak when pitted against his powerful master.

Not long after the Budoukai, Goku discovered the Red Ribbon Army while trying to find his four-star Dragonball. While he was searching, some of the Red Ribbon came accross Goku. He fought, and not surprisingly won.
