A new generation of artists is combining and redefining traditional art forms, creating new materials, performance practices and methods of artistic expression. The Strange Attractors X Festival of Experimental Music and Intermedia Art will bring to Metropolitan State University a collection of renowned artists in a celebration of new work and creativity. The festival will offer a flexible and interactive environment for artists to present and discuss their work to audiences who will have a unique opportunity to experience these works in diverse and creative ways. Kolata – The
composer-performer returns to Strange Attractors with a new ensemble of
improvisers.

Andrew Lafkas - The bassist curates an evening of international performers investigating the outer regions of improvisation and collaboration.
Sunday, April 6th (7 p.m.)
George Cartwright – The legendary composer-improviser and founder of the NYC band Curlew returns with an evening of surprising new music and intermedia flux.
Friday, April 11th (8 p.m.)
Mike Croswell – The composer-performer and instrument builder presents and evening of composed, constructed and improvised works with electronic signal processing.
Friday, April 18th (8 p.m.)
Georgia Stephens– Premiers the commissioned work “Gumballa”, a dance-theater piece with Ted Cabana, Mary Garvie, Roxanne Gregory, David Means, David Thornton and Marlene Tupy.
