John Gilbert Robinson

Home Up

John Gilbert, son of Elijah and Emily Chase Robinson, was born January 4th, 1873, near Chase, Ohio, and departed this life January 5, 1932, aged 59 years and one day.
He was married to Jennie Elizabeth Hoisington of Albany, Ohio in the month of September 1894.  To this union three children were born, two daughters and one son.  Jennie was the daughter of Ferdinand and Susan McCullick Hoisington.
He united with the Pilgrim Holiness Church at Nelsonville, Ohio under the Ministry of Rev. John Coleman.  He loved God and served and worshipped him.  He loved the Bible and his favorite book was the Gospel of St. John.  He enjoyed the fellowship of the Church and was faithful in attending divine worship as long as his health permitted.
His voice now heard in praise and testimony for the Saviour who had pardoned and cleansed him from sin.
He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Fay Childress, Circle Hill, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Hartley, Toledo, Ohio and sone son, Mr. Harold Robinson of Toledo Ohio.  One sister Mrs. Mary Moore, of Orange California, and three brothers, Gardner Robinson of Oceanside California, James C. Robinson of New York, New York, and Henry O. Robinson, of Marion Ohio; also thirteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
His father and mother and two brothers have preceded him in death.
Sleep on dear father, thy trials are over
Sweet is thy rest often needed before,
We loved you dearly but God loved you more,
And called you away to that Heavenly shore.
