CARTOON: He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe

EPISODE: Disappearing Act

REVIEWED BY: The DarkSider
THE PLOT: The story starts off at Snake Mountain where Beast Man boasts of setting up an activator at a local volcano.  Skeletor confirms that they will attack Castle Grayskull soon as it erupts.  Indeed the activator goes off making it erupt but luckily He-Man flies in on time to save the day.  Skeletor whips out another secret weapon which would be a invisibility helmet.  He plans to sneak in wearing the helmet  to kidnap Prince Adam.

Meanwhile in Eternia, Orko starts to clean up his messy room.  He whips out an old magic wand and tries to conjure up some magic to clean up the room.  Meanwhile outside, Prince Adam and Teela talk about Man-At-Arms new beeper which supposedly attracts flying objects when they hear the commotion.  In an accident, Orkos magic spell makes Prince Adams sword disappear when he enters the room.

Their situation goes from bad to worse when they discover Skeletor has snuck into the palace.  Skeletor places a curse on Prince Adam and demands that He-Man must show his face in the Banshee Jungle.  Orko explains his situation to Cringer and Man-At-Arms.  They all agree to see the Sorceress about getting the sword back to Prince Adam.

She claims the sword was propelled back in time and the only way to get it  back is to go through a time portal.   Orko and Cringer agree to go back in time and Man-At Arms stays in the present.  Meanwhile in the Banshee Forest, Skeletor imprisons Prince Adam in a cave with laser bars.  He boasts about a spell of his that will turn He-Man into stone when he arrives.  Prince Adam luckily finds Man-At-Arms beeper which he hopes will attract Stratos and not wolf-bats.

Cut to Man-At-Arms who is putting together a He-Man android.  Meanwhile Orko and Cringer make it through the portal to the past.  They find Prince Adams sword with an unfriendly giant but they are able to grab the sword and escape from many vicious creatures.

They meet up with Man-At-Arms who has the He-Man android up and working.  Stratos responds to the beeper and lets Man-At-Arms know where Prince Adam is being held hostage.  Man-At-Arms puts the He-Man android in an Attack Track thus providing a decoy to lure Skeletor away.

Orko makes up for his earlier mistake by returning the sword back to Prince Adam.  Cue He-Man and Battlecat.  Meanwhile, Skeletor finds out the He-Man they are chasing is just an android.  They head back to face He-Man who uses his powerful breath to disarm Skeletor.

Skeletor whips out his invisibility helmet but He-Man uses Orkos robe to uncover Skeletor.  He-Man crushes the helmet and Skeletor makes a dash for his havoc staff.  He-Man  plants the beeper on Skeletor which prompts a slew of wolf-bats on Skeletor. Skeletor runs away and Orko learns that the only way to clean your room is the old fashioned way.
The Anti-Houdini Award (most useless form of sorcery)
Orkos plan to clean his room misfires when he makes Prince Adams Sword disappear.  Orko is a bit like that kid who ate crayons in art class.

The Furry Loin Cloth Award
(most homo-erotic moment of the show)
Actually there are three episodes...
1.) He-Man grabbing Skeletors helmet.
2.) Prince Adam being forced into a dark cave.
3.) Orko taking off his robe so He-Man can put it on Skeletor.

The Def Eternia Jam
(most unfunny line of the show)
Too bad I dont have time for a steam bath.
He-Man after he closes up the volcano.

The Wisdom Of GraySkull
(and the moral of this story is...)
Man-At-Arms Says:
Being the most powerful man in the universe isnt all that makes He-Man such a great hero.  Being strong is fine, but theres something even better.  In todays story, He-Man used something even more powerful than his muscles to beat Skeletor.  Do you know what it was?  If you said his brain, youre right.

DarkSider Says: I think Man-At-Arms should give this speech to many professional athletes. The arrest rate would drop in half.  Until later Man-At-Arms...much later...
