CARTOON: He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe

EPISODE: The Diamond Ray Of Disappearance

REVIEWED BY: The DarkSider
THE PLOT: The episode stars off on Snake Mountain where Skeletor is discussing his newest evil device with Beast Man.  This would the last Diamond Ray Of Disappearance which Skeletor has in a box.  He orders Beast Man to activate the transport beam.

Skeletor calls several evil warriors to Snake Mountain.  The line would be Mer-Man warlord of water, Evil-Lyn sorceress of night, Tri-Klops master of vision and Trapjaw wizard of weapons. Once they are all on Snake Mountain, Skeletor proceeds with the meeting. He boasts that he has the power to crush Eternia and destroy He-Man.  He demonstrates the Diamond Ray Of Disappearances effect on a lizard for his flunkies.  They all marvel as the lizard gets exiled into another dimension into thin air.  The plan is set with the baddies.

Meanwhile in Eternia, Orko is screwing around doing a few magic tricks for the royal family, Teela and Man-At-Arms.  Out of nowhere, Trapjaw arrives and begins an all out assault on Eternia.  Teela rushes to the defense and Adam/Cringer disappear for the time being.  Cue He-Man and Battlecat.

Skeletor oversees the battle and is filled with glee that Teela and her guard are far away from Eternia.  Teela finally catches up with Trapjaw who has technical difficulties with his weapon attachments.  He takes a bite out of Teelas sword but He-Man arrives with Battlecat.  He-Man bends up one of Trapjaws attachments and chucks him away.  He-Man tells Teela that all of this must have been a diversion from Eternia and to head back home.

Meanwhile, The Sorceress arrives in eagle form to warn Man-At-Arms about Skeletors invasion.  However, it proves to late seeing Skeletor is already in the palace.  The Sorceress, who is powerless away from Castle Grayskull, gets zapped by the Diamond Ray and disappears.  The same goes for The King, The Queen and Man-At Arms.

He-Man arrives outside to find Skeletors Robot Knights surrounding Eternia.  He is about to attack but is warded off by Orko who escaped the palace.  He informs him about Skeletors actions and He-Man knows right away that this is due to the Diamond Ray.  He tells Orko to go find Ram-Man, Stratos and Teela.

He-Man heads off to Castle Grayskull to see if he can contact the Sorceress.  She appears in the mirror and tells He-Man must crush the Diamond Of Disappearance to save them.  Skeletor shows up outside riding Panthro.  He orders his troops to tear down the front door only to find He-Man waiting.  He-Man chucks the baddies around and quickly, He-Mans reenforcements arrived.

Quickly the good guys get the upper hand but Skeletor whips out the Diamond and tries to use it against He-Man.  He-Man blocks the Diamond Ray with his sword which knocks it out of Skeletors hand into a crack.  Skeletor summons a rock monster but He-Man easily punches through it.  He-Man grabs the Diamond and struggles with it at first.  However, he successfully crushes it with his bare hands thus bringing back everyone who disappeared.  Skeletor swears vengeance and disappears with his men.

The episode ends with Teela announcing Prince Adam return on The Kings zoom chariot.  According to Teela Adam broke the directional control right as he crashes with Cringer through the wall.  They all laugh at the end because although it wasnt a grand entrance,  he finally arrived somewhere on time.
The Anti-Houdini Award (most useless form of sorcery)
I award this to Orkos eggs over easy trick which consisted of a few eggs on a steel tray over glasses.  The eggs end up all over Man-At-Arms. He did this to entertain the King and Queen which proves  Eternia needs hi-def television.

The Furry Loin Cloth Award
(most homo-erotic moment of the show)
This goes to He-Man who, with a firm grip, bends Trapjaws laser and tosses him away.

The Def Eternia Jam
(most unfunny line of the show)
Next time you might try knocking first.
He-Man to Skeletors henchmen as the pull down the door to Castle Grayskull.

The Wisdom Of GraySkull (and the moral of this story is...)
He-Man Says:
In todays story Skeletor was looking for a shortcut; a quick way to riches and power.  You may know some people like that, always looking for the quick way to get ahead of everybody else.  Well it doesnt work that way.  The people who succeed are the ones who work for what they want.

DarkSider Says:
It doesnt look like Paris Hilton or Nicole Ritchie have ever been to Eternia. Until later He-Man...much later...
