| CARTOON: He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe EPISODE: The Cosmic Comet REVIEWED BY: The DarkSider |
|||||||
| THE PLOT: The episode begins at the doors of Castle Grayskull where Beast Man and Evil-Lyn note something called the Cosmic Comet is approaching. She zaps the door of Grayskull with her eyes and He-Man/Man-At-Arms await on the other side. He-Man easily dispatches both into the mud around the castle.
The Sorceress lets the guys know that this was just a test of the Cosmic Comets power. She tells them to seek the help of an old sorcerer named Zagraz who is the keeper of the comets. Man-At-Arms tell the King and Queen about their mission which is being kept as a secret. Teela is told by the King to accompany Man-At-Arms and Prince Adam on the mission. Orko also volunteers to go with the group. Meanwhile on Snake Mountain, Skeletor does a seance with Beast Man and Evil-Lyn which causes a ball of energy to officially take over the Cosmic Comet. Cut to the Prince Adam and the group in an Attack Track who arrive at Zagrazs mountain. Turns out Zagraz is extremely happy to have visitors and tells them the story of the Cosmic Comet. Long ago, Zagraz spotted two happy comets in the universe. In an attempt to control them both, he accidently destroyed one thus turning the other one evil. He blames himself for not being able to control the cosmic comet and admits to not having the same amount of power that he used to. Back on Snake Mountain, Skeletor demands the Cosmic Comet to send creatures to capture Zagraz. The Cosmic Comet sends out three mini-comets that turn into clay men like creatures. Teela and Man-At-Arms find that destroying them is near impossible. Meanwhile, Prince Adam turns into He-Man and Cringer to Battlecat. He-Man makes a mess of the comet creatures who turn into tiny white fragments. Zagraz is wounded so the group decides that the Sorceress is the only one that can help. Orko notes that the remains of the comet creatures could prove useful and takes the fragments with him. Back on Castle Grayskull, Zagraz is stabilized while He-Man his friends take the Attack Track to see Skeletor. Skeletor senses He-Mans attack and sends out Beast Man in the Basher to slow him down. He also mentions that he and Evil-Lyn will call upon the Cosmic Comet to defeat He-Man. Beast Man attacks the Attack Track but is shot down in no time. However, Skeletor and Evil-Lyn are able to absorb the Cosmic Comets power. They use it to knock out He-Man and his friends. Luckily for them, the Sorceress is able to transport them back to Castle Grayskull. Skeletor, upset about not being able to finish them off, sends the Cosmic Comet hurling towards Castle Grayskull. Back at the castle, He-Man notes that Skeletors power is almost impossible to stop. The Sorceress also notes that the Cosmic Comet is en route to destroy them. Zagraz claims that the evil comet could possibly be stopped if they built a comet of good. Orko takes out the fragments of the comet creatures and this becomes the building blocks. Everyone installs goodness into the comet which comes alive but mentions it cant fly. Skeletor and his friends head off to Castle Grayskull to see the carnage. Meanwhile, Zagraz struggles to get the good comet into the air. As the evil comet approaches, the Sorceress magically lifts He-Man up to slow it down. Finally, Zagraz gets the comet of good into the air which turns the evil comet good again. The comets both thank the group and spin Skeletors ship spin out sending him away again. Zagraz is happy to find out he still has the power to help people. The show ends with Prince Adam learning from Zagraz how to control comets via three balls. Adam sends one of the balls after Orko which chases him around which everyone gives everyone a good laugh. |

| The Anti-Houdini Award (most useless form of sorcery)
This goes to Orko who turns his arm into a vacuum to suck up pieces of the comet creatures. Yeah, this sucks in more ways that one. The Furry Loin Cloth Award (most homo-erotic moment of the show) He-Man takes on three male comet creatures at once which results in white spots all over the ground. The Def Eternia Jam (most unfunny line of the show) Thats the last time I try to wrestle a comet. He-Man after he holds back the Cosmic Comet. The Wisdom Of GraySkull (and the moral of this story is...) Man-At-Arms Says: In todays story Zagraz had a problem. He lost his confidence in himself because he at once failed. Well now we all fail sometimes but we should never be afraid to try again. DarkSider Says: This mentality does not cover the producers of the Police Academy movies. Until later Man-At-Arms...much later... |
