| CARTOON: He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe EPISODE: The Shaping Staff REVIEWED BY: The DarkSider |
|||||||
| THE PLOT: The episode begins with He-Man destroying a Robot Knight and grabbing a tentacle out of the ground. All this is part of Man-At-Arms new training system. He-Man mentions that he has to attend dinner as Prince Adam.
At dinner, Orko does some bad magic and then whips out something called demons dust which supposedly conjures up evil creatures. This trick works but instead of a demon, a woman magician appears and proceeds to do some impressive tricks. Her last trick involves a box and the King disappearing, then reappearing. The King, acting a bit different, invites the new magician to stay in the palace a while longer. Orko suspects something is up and follows the magician and the King. The two lead him to the dungeon where they open the door to reveal the King on the ground. The magician and the fake King reveal themselves as Beast Man and Evil-Lyn. Evil-Lyn explains that she wields something called the Shaping Staff which can transform anyone into anything. She then transforms the real King into a goat. Orko spies this but quickly finds himself turned into a cricket. Skeletor catches up with his henchmen and they all agree to set up an assault against Castle Grayskull in the morning. When Adam and Man-At-Arms find out about the Kings impending attack on Grayskull, they immediately know something is up. Later that evening, Cringer comes into Prince Adams room because he is scared. Orko, in cricket form, later comes into the room and spills the beans about the Shaping Staff. Cue He-Man and Battlecat. Evil-Lyn and Beast Man arrive in Adams room surprised to find He-Man. He-Man deflects Evil-Lyns attempt to transform him. However, she temporarily blinds him and turns Teela (who ran to Adams room with Man-At Arms) into a frog. He-Man lays down his sword and Evil-Lyn turns him into a gold statue. She doesnt bother with Man-At-Arms and Battlecat and transports herself to Castle Grayskull. Meanwhile at Castle Grayskull, Skeletor makes an evil clone of He-Man called Faker. Faker lures out the Sorceress who quickly loses most of her power. Evil-Lyn ambushes her with the Shaping Staff turning her into a tree. He-Man is able to communicate telepathically with the Sorceress and tells her to break the spell. The Sorceress frees He-Man from the spell but Faker jumps into action against He-Man. The two wrestle away but He-Man is able to throw Faker into the abyss. Skeletor conjures up some chains that restrict He-Mans movement. However, just in time Man-At-Arms arrives with the guard to take on Skeletors minions. He-Man is able to break free from the chains and tackle Skeletor knocking the Shaping Staff out of his hands. He-Man breaks the staff which transforms everyone back to themselves. Evil-Lyn grabs the broken staff thinking it still works but accidently transforms herself into a small dragon creature. Skeletor admits defeat, swears vengeance and disappears. The show ends with King back on the throne as himself. Teela scolds Prince Adam for not being there to save the day but is glad He-Man took on the responsibility. She also notes how funny it is he is never around when He-Man comes to town. Orko is about to put on a magic show but Cringer makes himself disappear by leaving the room. Everyone has a good laugh at this and the show ends. |

| The Anti-Houdini Award (most useless form of sorcery)
Orko uses the demon dust to conjure up the magician who almost killed off Eternia. Dont make that guy in charge of the red button in Eternia. The Furry Loin Cloth Award (most homo-erotic moment of the show) Actually there are three episodes... 1.) He-Man grabbing a large, long tentacle and pulling on it. 2.) He-Man wrestling with himself (Faker). 3.) He-Man being put into bondage by Skeletor. The Def Eternia Jam (most unfunny line of the show) Thatll teach you to fool around with magic. He-Man to Evil-Lyn when she turns herself into a creature with the broken Shaping Staff. The Wisdom Of GraySkull (and the moral of this story is...) Orko Says: In todays story you saw what happened when a stranger came to the palace. She turned out to be evil and dangerous. Of corse turning people into animals is only make believe but there is nothing make believe about how dangerous some strangers can be in real life. DarkSider Says: You mean that guy who offered me a ride when I was 10 years old didnt like me for my personality? Oh and I thought that he had his pants off because it was hot out. Until later Orko...much later... |
