| TELEVISION SHOW: Baywatch EPISODE: Kicks REVIEWED BY: The DarkSider - 1/14/09 |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| BRIEF PLOT OVERVIEW: The episode begins with a music montage of kickboxing over a song called Bad Mofo. Matt Brody (who has Mitch as his manager) pounding his opponents makes up the brunt of it. A fellow named Steve enters the ring and aggressively dispatches his opponent which catches the eye of a fellow in the crowd who snaps some photos. The fellow in the crowd spots Mitch and runs over to harass him. The guy, Michael Branson, apparently had some foul history in the Navy between Mitch.
Summer, who was at the fights, approaches the aggressive fighter whos name is Steve. The two seem to get along rather well but this mildly upsets Matt. Meanwhile, Mitch checks in with CJ who is contemplating doing a photo shoot for a popular swimsuit magazine by a fellow named Alain. Reluctantly she goes for the shoot but ends up doing a great photo spread. The final fight of Matt vs. Steve takes place right after Michael taunts Mitch some more. The two trade blows until Steve hits Matt with an illegal elbow thus handing the match to Matt via disqualification. Dejected, Steve storms out and ignores Summer who tries to comfort him. However, Michael makes his move on Steve and tells him of a league where he can make big bucks with no rules. He hands him some money and tells him to come back later that night. This briefly cuts to CJ and Alain in the subplot and the two share a romantic moment. The next day they do another shoot which gets steamy on the beach. She later tells Mitch of her feelings for Alain. The next day Summer catches up with Steve. He apologizes for his actions and explains his anger problem which stems from an abusive father. Michael arrives to pick him up and Summer decides to tag along. Steve quickly discovers that the fighting is vicious bare knuckled brawls and prepares for his bout. However, he discovers late from Summer that Michael is his opponent. Michael approaches Steve and tells him in so many words that if he doesnt fight him, he needs a replacement. Meanwhile, Mitch tells Matt during a workout session about Michael. Michael was a student of Mitchs in the Navy and caused many problems for him. Mitch discharged him and Michael insisted on fighting to the death but Mitch refused. This story gets interrupted with a phone call from Michael. Summer and Steve are being held against their will until Mitch arrives to fight. Mitch drives there and notes Michael beating on Steve in the ring. Mitch breaks this up and after a brief fight, he takes out Michael. He threatens the owner to never have the fights again. Mitch and Steve go in back to rescue Summer but Mitch is attacked by Michael again. Mitch once again topples Michael and they all leave. The show ends with CJ finding out Alain is a bit of a jerk and she abandons her dreams of being a model to save lives. Summer also finds Steve a new coach in the form of Mitch. |
