Storyline 10
I give the story a 10 out of 10 for 100%. You start off in a huge bath filled with beautiful people, when all of a sudden this ugly fat girl comes out of nowhere and drains all their beauty with a vacuum cleaner. Right after they all get angry and go after the villian (whose name is Chun Li), they beat the living crap out of each other, and the last one remaining is the one who gets all their beauty back along with everyone else's. Midway into the game, one of the characters, Ryu, learns the secret of his Dragon Arts, and learns how to go super saiyan. Here's an example of what he looks like as he transforms from gay little Ryu to kick ass Ken.
Gameplay 10
The gameplay is perfect, I've never played a more fun fighting game in the world. You have awesome moves that are easy to perform and its all about how cheap you can be. The most powerful opponent in the game is E. Honda. E. Honda may seem like a fat slow sumo wrestler, but he can fly like superman, and his thousand hand slap is unavoidable. He can move at 50 km/hr while doing the unavoidable slaps, and it's performable in the air as well. Click below for examples.
E. Honda's thousand hand slap.
Sound 10
The sound in this game destroys. They go into detail and have sounds for almost anything. There's sound when the fighters get hit, and sounds when they attack. There's often so much sound you don't know what's coming from where. The music is very soothing as well and fits in with the respective backgrounds. For example there's Japanese music in the Japan stage and there's casino music in Vegas.
Graphics 10
The graphics are absolutely perfect, its not choppy, its 256 bit, and they have colors that'll blow your face away. Below is an example of the immense power and at the same time one of E. Honda's best moves performed the right way.
Control 10
The controller is great, SNES controllers last pretty much as long as you want them to, whereas Sega controllers break and and become hard to press after only a few years. I find it especially hard to play Shining in the Darkness (rpg) for Genesis when I have to get blisters just to press the up button. In Shining in the Darkness you play as an evil mage called Darksol that kidnaps a princess, (another kick ass game). Its mainly in a first person environment, thus you have to always press up if you want to be able to go anywhere. Darksol is basically immune to everything and invincible and when you level up you learn new killing techniques like Demon Breath and Flaming Clowns. This is a picture of Darksol.
Replay Value
This is a fighting game, nobody plays one round and says they've played it all. Shining in the Darkness is also great, I've played it 2 and a half times.
Rent or Buy?
Neither, as of December 25, 1996 I bought every copy of Street Fighter 2 Turbo that was left in the world.
Overall 8
Overall this is a pretty review, I think I did a pretty good job at bringing all your hopes up then making you realize there's no copy of Street Fighter 2 Turbo left in the world. I give myself a pat on the back.
