HISTORY.

23.8.44: grouped in Râmnicu Vâlcea - Slatina - Caracal area, with 9046 militarymen.
after 24.8.44:
- it sent 3 recruits battalions to the C.M.C in Bucharest; these actioned at Cotroceni, Pipera and Chitila.
- the march battalions actioned at Sfântu Gheorghe, in Transylvania.
- other 3 battalions were in defence on the Olt river.
moved to Medias, then to Târnăveni, on the Târnava Mică river, in Transylvania.
5.9.44: the division stopped the enemy attack at Lăscud (N of Târnăveni), then it counterattacked and seized Lăscud, Somostelnic and Giulus.
6-10.9.44: obliged to withdraw to the hills N of Târnăveni, keeping a bridgehead over Târnava Mică.
11.9.44: it counterattacked together with units of the 5. Soviet Armoured Corps and seized Dealul Păunei.
