Here are the materials to carry out coils: an old drill, a speed controller, candles birthday "Vahinee" and enamelled copper wire of 5 / 100.

The little yellow piece on the chuck is a magnet designed to operate the tachometer through a reed relay.

We set the candle in the hard core.

To make a gorge in the candle in order to delimit the winding is heated gently, with a lighter, the blade of a spatula or a screwdriver.

We do the gorge.

We measure with a depth gauge (4mm).

We start winding wire  by the end of the candel, then made several turns on the body of the candle to reserve a good length of wire (important for later).

We start winding.

Beginning of winding closer.

About all 100 turns are added with a toothpick, the CA very thin and new.

CA will be charged with a toothpick from a drop filed on piece of tape stuck on a piece of paper.

We wind coil and up to 800 turns.

With a soldering iron hot apply flux on the wire.

We check the resistance of winding.

We go out the candle of the mandrel.

We boil water !

It melts the candle by running hot water.

And we get the coil.

It is finished, we note the values of winding.
