Here is a small Renard-R17 without the rudder :

We choose the coil the most appropriate.

We measure the size of external winding, 4mm here.

This is reeling in its location, we adjust if necessary.

We glue  with glue-stick in first then with  PVA white glue.

We cut a strip of aluminum by 0.3 mm, this will be the rudder.

Here are the magnets (2mm diameter) that we will stick by and on the other rudder.
They come comes from HomeFly.

This is the magnet :

We glue the magnet CA thick :

The two magnets are together, you'll twist the rudder to centre :

We fix on the location of magnets in the coil :

We check the length of thearm in the coil:

We measure the size of the arm  side rudder :

The arm is a good length :

We cut the hinges on the Blenderm tape :

Here is a small hinge :

The fin is OK :

Unfortunately, the wire of the coil are too short !

We must be made wire by wire two extensions solderingin a tin ball on a piece of aluminium :

Here is the equipment to solder: magnifying glass, soldering iron JBC, tweezer, tape to keep up the wire and a aluminum block. All this technique is well described on the website of MPS.

We check the contact: 100 ohms, that's OK.

It works! See the video.

The small plane wish Does it ever fly?
