66-Henry HARTSOCK, b. c1741, Raritan, Somerset Co., NJ, s/o Peter and Anna Margaretha KONES HARTSOCK, d. 22 Jun 1812, Frederick Co., MD, m. 1766, Frederick Co., MD, (67) Anna Maria HOWARD, b. before. 1750, who may have been d/o Thomas and Priscilla SELBY HOWARD, d. 23 Mar 1816, Frederick Co., MD. The graves have not been located. Henry was a farmer. The family was members of the German Reformed Church in Frederick. The births of the children were recorded in German in the family bible dated 1766. Henry is listed by the Committee of Observation of Frederick Co., MD, 27 Dec 1775, as an associator returned from the war. Four brothers, Nicholas, George, William, and John were also listed. His will named all the children except Elizabeth, who may have died without heirs. (FH2) Children:

66.1-William HARTSOCK, b. 1769, Frederick Co., MD. In the 1810 census, William was in Frederick Co., MD, and a slave owner. He married, had four sons and three daughters. (FH2)

66.2-Catherine HARTSOCK, b. 22 Oct 1772, Frederick Co., MD, m. 18 Oct 1796 (MDFR1), Frederick Co., MD, William MUMFORD, s/o James and Mary MUMFORD. Only one child is known, named in the will of her grandfather, Henry HARTSOCK: (FH2) 

66.3-John HARTSOCK, b. 13 Aug 1777, Frederick Co., MD, d. 27 Jun 1838, Frederick Co., m. 12 Apr 1801, Frederick Co., Catherine FOX, b. 4 Dec 1873, d. 4 May 1861, Frederick Co. John owned farms in Ushers Freehold, Woods Lot, and Better Than None, besides the  his residence on the Little Pipe Creek. (FH2) Children:

66.4-Joseph HARTSOCK, b. 24 Apr 1782, Frederick Co., d. 7 Jan 1861, Frederick Co., m. 3 Jan 1816 (MDFR1), Frederick Co., Elizabeth LUGENBEEL, b. 4 Sep 1794 Frederick Co., d/o John LUGENBEEL Sr., d. 17 Jul 1874, Frederick Co. Both are buried in Linganore Cemetery, Unionville, MD (MDFRB2). Joseph's first wife, with whom he had two children, d. after 1814 and before 1818.
