Lake Manyara
On our third day we met up with our tour group.  Here is Cynthia with Leekey (still our driver) and two members of our group, Betsy and Kelly.  We shared the Land Cruiser with them throughout the trip, and they were perfect travel companions.
After visiting an interesting little village called Mosquito Creek, we drove to the Serena Safari Lodge at Lake Manyara.
Here Jon is checking out the vista, not the chicks behind him at the pool.
This was the view of Lake Manyara from the balcony of our room.
See more pictures around the lodge.
The next day we learned how difficult it can be to spot elephants in the bush . . .
. . . unless they want to check you out!
We also saw how destructive elephants can be to the habitat --  and how much they enjoy a nice dirt bath!
This cute baby baboon was one of the other animals we enjoyed seeing that day at Lake Manyara and on our drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, in our view Tanzania's most spectacular site.

Thanks, Brenda, for the terrific shot!
