The Arlington County Fair
August 19-23, 2009
The Carnival
After you see everything inside the Community Center, go outside for food, games, the animal petting zoo, the pig races, and amusement rides.  Entrance to the carnival is free, so everybody can come.  But you have to pay for the rides, games, and food.
The carnival is a party for all of Arlington. Bring your kids!
REEP students Lilian and Osman are having a good time.
Here's another student couple taking a walk through the carnival.
Sisters Gabriella and Carmen are enjoying the carnival with their kids and their classmate Sophia.
Teacher Phil Cackley's son John likes the goats in the Petting Zoo.  The Petting Zoo will be open on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:00 PM.
You can buy food from many different countries at the carnival.  Here Marco, Cecile, and Epoupacile are relaxing with their dinners.
The carnival looks less romantic on Friday morning, but the  morning classes have a good time at the fair, too.

If you like the carnival and the animals at the Arlington County Fair, you will love the Prince William County Fair in Manassas  It is a traditional county fair with many farm animals and a big carnival.   It is the largest county fair in Virginia.  This year it is August 14-22.  There is an admission charge.
