My Cyber-Friends

In Control?

My family complains, "She's on that computer again,"
In Defending my Compaq, I'm like an Ole Mother hen.
I'm quick to reply, "Oh I am just ordering supplies to buy and resell,"
But in truth, what I am doing is checking my email!

I sneak in on breaks, the net I must surf,
Hubby warns those approaching my keyboard, "Beware better stay off her turf!"
By evening I'm nervous, and the hives I have developed are starting to itch,
And I think my fingers are actually starting to twitch!

I try to get on the message board, as my cyber friends are all there,
awating the neat jokes and cute stories they are all willing to share.
My loved ones keep saying, "We can never reach you by phone,
Better check that phone co., something surely must be wrong!"

I feel the need to click, type, and put that mouse in high gear,
I'm learning new procedures, I've realized, there's nothing to fear.
I'm so thrilled to get on the internet, without even a htich,
And the most treasured words from ISProviders are, "It's no virus, 
but only a glitch!"

As night approaches I tell hubby, "Its ok honey, you can go on to bed,"
And he hasn't had so much control over the TV remote, since first we 
were wed.
I click on my Yahoo, and my "friends list" starts to appear,
and when I see that tab saying, JOIN, I give a hurrah and loud cheer!

I laugh, joke, and converse till the wee hours of night,
Fully knowing that in just a short time, darkless will give way to light.
But, these are the treasured moments, and for a lifetime they will last,
And for years I will remember these times as a 
BLAST FROM THE PAST!

Yes, I must confess, my computer I simply adore,
making my tasks of the day, seem so much less than a chore.
And if I were a betting person, I'd take odds you likewise would say, 
That deep, deep, down in your heart, you feel exactly the same way!!!
