Canada�s Tobias Oriwol wins third medal on European tour

BARCELONA- Tobias Oriwol of Pointe-Claire, Que., earned his third medal on the Mare Nostrum swimming circuit on Thursday placing second in the men�s 400-metre individual medley.

Leonardo Tumiotto of Spain took the gold in four minutes and 24.12 seconds with Oriwol, the leader at the halfway point, second in 4:27.08.  Le Li of China was third in 4:30.52.  Oriwol also won bronze here on Wednesday in the 200 IM and was third in the same event this past Sunday at the opening stop in Canet, France.

Jonathan Aubry of Montreal was second in the B final for 10th overall.

Chanelle Charron-Watson of Quebec City was the other Canadian finalist Thursday placing eighth in the women�s 400 freestyle.

Mathieu Bois of Montreal was second in the men�s 100 breaststroke B final for 10th overall.  Marie-Pier Couillard of Levis, Que., and Stephanie Horner of Beaconsfield, Que., were 14th and 15th in the women�s 400 IM

On Wednesday, Genevi�ve Saumur of Montreal was fifth in the women�s 200 freestyle with Charron-Watson eighth.  Horner won the B final.

Bois was eighth in the 200 breaststroke and Rick Say of Calgary eighth in the men�s 200 freestyle.

The third and final stop on the circuit is this weekend at Monte Carlo.
