Canada�s Keith Beavers wins two medals at Charlotte Ultra Swim
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina � Keith Beavers of Waterloo, Ont., won medals in his two main events which were held back-to-back on Sunday at the Charlotte Ultra Swim.
In the men�s 200-metre individual medley, Bradley Ally of the U.S., took the gold medal in two minutes and 03.76 seconds with Beavers second in 2:04.27 and Tim Liebhold of the U.S., third in 2:04.38. Zach Summerhayes of Waterloo was eighth in the final.
In the men�s 200 backstroke, Doug Van Wie of the U.S., was the winner in 2:02.34, his compatriot Patrick Schirk second in 2:02.53 and Beavers third in 2:02.61.
Beavers, a 2004 Olympic team member, headlined a Team Ontario squad at the weekend competition.
