Portuguese international midfielder Silas is aiming to shake off his injury for Saturday’s match against Penafiel, Marítimo’s first home game of the season. The summer signing, on loan from Wolverhampton, has had a minor injury since last week, but yesterday was able to return to limited training and running.

Rodrigăo, who has injured his right knee, went to Lisboa this week to visit a specialist from the medical department of Benfica. It is still unknown when he will be recouped and ready to play again, unlike Rui Marques, Ferreira and Tonel who all returned to full training yesterday after recovering from minor injuries.

First choice left back Eusébio was unable to complete yesterdays training sessions, and left early after picking up a minor knock, along with Brazilian striker Zumbi who has a minor injury from Sunday’s Marítimo B game against Camacha, in which the verde-rubros won 3-1. Both players will be re-evaluated today by the medical department.
