| Brazilian striker Zumbi and Madeirense defender Fernando, both first team players in the Marítimo squad, have been called upon by Nélson Caldeira (Pictured left) to play in today’s B team match at home to Camacha in the Segunda Liga B. Replacing the injured Mário Teixeira, Ismael Gaúcho and Maruka, Caldeira looks to add experience to the you B team, with the addition of Zumbi and Fernando, and also Luís Olim.
Nélson Caldeira has named 18 players in his squad: Bruno Freitas, Lúis Carlos, Ronaldo, Dudu, Emanuel, Hélvio, Luís Filipe, Paulinho, Tiago Almeida, Rúben, Fábio Mariano, Igor, Pita, Hélder, Ludgero, Luís Olim, Fernando and Zumbi. Caldeira, who is also the temporary manager of the Marítimo A team, will be up against four on-loan Marítimo players, playing in the Camacha side: Márcio Abreu, David, Jean and Márcio Camacho. |

CLUB RELEXED OVER MANAGER VACANCY In other news, the Marítimo A team continue to be under the command Nélson Caldeira and the coaching staff as the club have yet to appoint a new manager following the departure of Manuel Cajuda last Monday. A number of names have been rumoured, including former Marítimo managers Nelo Vingada and Paulo Autouri, as well as António Sousa and Jair Picerni, former manager of rivals Nacional. The club seem very relaxed about the whole situation and have said that a new manager will be appointed by Wednesday, leaving just three days before Marítimo’s first home league game of the season, to Penafiel, and crucially just one week away from the UEFA Cup match with Glasgow Rangers.
