This is a band that I first heard (actually up til now have only heard) on the Pavorotti & Friends compilation CD to benefit the children of Liberia. It was recorded in June of 1998 at Pavarotti's hometown of Modena, Italy. While the contributers included artists with barely recognizable talent (i.e. Spice Girls and Bon Jovi) to artists with considerably more musical substantiality (i.e. Pavarotti), the Corrs were the only ones beside Stevie Wonder to really interest me. I can't count how many times I've listened to the re-make of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" since discovering the CD. More than the fact that I had never heard of the band and they were on an album with a plethora of Italian music, I still think they have more of an Italian than Irish accent. Their music is a mix of traditional Irish music, pop music, and the belief that a guy with marginal musical talent can play the bass, tour and pose with three knock-out Irish chics with Italian accents. ;)
