A Month Later

I stood at the gate of the airport waiting for Billy and Dom. I saw them, and ran up to them. "Billy!" I said hugging him. I hugged Dom too. "You've brought a friend." I said noticing Elijah. We hadn't talked much in the month we'd been broken up. "You did too." Billy said. "OH! This is my friend Skyler." I said. "Boyfriend." Skyler corrected. "Don't you think you should ask me out before you all yourself my boyfriend?" I asked. They were looking at us, especially Elijah who was looking both angry and upset. "What? I figured by kissing me that meant we were going out." He said. "WHAT? I kissed you once! I was major upset, and you kissed me. That does not make us boy friend and girl friend." I said. "Hey, if you want to date high school boys don't let us stop you." Elijah said. "Who the hell are you?" Skyler asked. "Elijah, and you're what, 16?" He asked. "17, and Elijah, isn't that the jerk you were crying over?" Skyler asked. "Kill me now Billy. I don't care how you do it, just kill me as soon as possible." I said. "You ran to this baby bawling over me? What the hell did I do?" Elijah asked. I started walking away. Everyone followed, and we got their stuff, and got in the car without a word said. "You didn't answer my question. What did I do that made you run to this baby and cry?" Elijah asked. "You dumped her! She was crying over the fact that you're so stupid you can't see how great she is." Skyler said. "Is that true Eve?" Elijah asked. "Really, Billy, you can kill me now. I wouldn't mind." I said. He just grabbed my hand. "Yes, it's true. I was crying over the fact that we're not together anymore. DOM! How have you been?" I asked desprate to change the subject. "Good, glad to get some time off from movie stuff." He said. "Yeah, that stuff is hard work." I said. "Well, do you want us to be together?" Elijah asked. "Of course she does! I see it in her eyes. That look she always has, it scared me, and I didn't know why until now, she doesn't see anyone, but you. She's hooked on you." Skyler said. "You two really need help on knowing when a topic has been dropped and the subject of conversation has been changed. I mean REALLY!" I said. Billy laughed. I laughed too. I pulled into the driveway. "Ah! Home." I said happily. We al plied out. "Billy, I've been getting your stuff from Scotland for a couple weeks now." I said. I showed him his room where I had put together his bed at had come and a bunch of things were put out around the room. I showed Dom where he'd be sleeping, and I put a blanket and a pillow on the couch for Elijah. It was late so Skyler went home and we all went to bed. The next morning I got up at 8 to fix the guys breakfast. "Morning." Billy said at 9:30. "Morning." I said. "Is it true Billy? I've been up all night wondering if I have that look in my eyes." I said. Billy looked at me and nodded. "You do. I think you really do love him, and I know you want to be with him, but you're scared. You're scared of looking your best friend." Billy said. "It's true, but what does that matter? I've lost my best friend already." I said. I looked up from the floor where I'd been looking and saw instead of Billy, Elijah stood there. I gave him a weak smile. "Good-morning. Where'd Billy go?" I asked. "Be my girlfriend." He said. "I…I can't. I can't loose you again. It would kill me." I said. "I'm asking you to chance it. Please, I'm begging you." He said. "Lij, I can't loose you again." I said. "Shh." He said kissing me. "I love you." He said. "I love you too." I said. I knew what I was getting myself into, and I wasn't sure I wanted to chance it. "It'll be OK." He said. I just gave him a weak smile, and nodded. "I've got to go work on something in my room. I'll be back later." I said walking to my room. I fell onto my bed, and thought. Is this what I want? I asked myself. I did. I wanted to be with Elijah. I wanted to kiss him, and I wanted to hold him, and I wanted his love. I wanted to feel that feeling of security when I was with him, I wanted to tell him everything and I wanted him to tell me everything. I smiled. I was deffinatly in love with Elijah Jordan Wood.
