Hoganfest. May have taken place in 1979. Of Hoganfest Larry Hall notes, 'Hoganfest was held about twenty miles north of San Antonio in the Texas Hill Country. It was on a small ranch/getaway owned by the parents of John Hogan who was the lead guitar player for the band Mesquite, of which I was a guitarist/vocalist. It was basically just a blast for musicians and invited friends, with maybe a turnout of 75, tops. The name "Hoganfest" makes it sound perhaps more grandiose than it was. Once it became a yearly thing, it had to be given a name/nickname which Texans are wont to do ... Ergo, the Hoganfest.'
