Cottam Primary School Admissions Policy
Children are admitted to Cottam Primary School in the September of the academic year in which they turn five.

The standard number of admission to the school is 30 children.
In the event of applications being in excess of this number, then the following criteria will be applied in priority order:
1.  Children with older brothers and sisters* who will still be attending the school when the younger child starts.
2.  Children for whom the County Council accepts there are exceptionally strong medical, social or welfare reasons for admission, which are directly relevant to the school concerned.
3.  The remaining places will be allocated according to the distance between the child's home and school of the parents' preference and between home and the nearest alternative school with a place.

* Brothers and sisters includes step children and foster children who are living with the same family at the same address.

If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact us and we will be happy to talk the process through with you.
