DG's Entertainment Beat Message Board Rules (all users must comply with these rules in oder to post):

1. No offensive language: This one's a given: I don't want people to feel they can't come here because they're going to be offended. Save the rude comments for at home. Also, trying to "cheat" the forum's bad word filter is not allowed. For example, if "blun" was a bad word: unacceptable: b l u n, b_l_u_n, b1un, b!un, etc.

2. Respect other people's opinions: Disagreement is fine, but do not say "so and so's a moron" just because they don't agree with you. Defining people by their tastes is wrong and only serves to undermine the whole experience of the debate. You are not "better" than someone because your tastes are different from theirs: every opinion matters. You can state your side and say why you took the side you do and not the other side presented, but respect the fact someone else disagrees with you and accept that. Disagree, yes, but don't belittle others because of those disagreements.

3. Advertising: is allowed under these two conditions: a) your Site or a Site you're referring to has something to do with the topic (e.g. someone posts a topic about the Rolling Stones and your reply includes a link to an article on them that backs up your point)
b) you state your side of the argument and include the Site at the end of your post, with at least 90% of your post dedicated to the topic and not the Site.

4. No off-topic posts: If someone starts a topic and you're responding, you have to remain on topic. If the subject was "what did you think of Nelly's new album?" and you start to talk about how The Clash broke up, your post will be deleted for being off-topic. Also, this page is an entertainment page that deals mostly with music, so only the following topics can be raised here: Music, Movies and Video Games. Anything else will be deleted.

5. Registered users only: Why? Because I want the people who come to this board to be accountable for their posts. Anonymous posts allow for people to break the rules and that is unacceptable. I do not give out your E-Mail or passwords and your privacy will protected in every way, shape and form, and signing up is free and easy. Sign-up procedures are outlined at the board's main page and can be done at www.hockeytraderumors.com/dg.

6. Illegal operations: Not allowed here. Asking for, or providing, illegal ROMs, MP3s or any other illegally downloaded file is not acceptable here. Also, any post that is about an illegal act- like rape or promoting sex with a minor- counts as offensive language and will not be allowed here.

7. Usernames: MUST be appropriate or else the user will be banned posthaste. NO EXCEPTIONS.

8. Baning users: For violations of rules 7 and 8, the user will banned immediately without any consideration. For the other rules, the user is given two (2) strikes within a six month period before the user is banned. I will be keeping track of this and a comment warning the user about the strike will be issued underneath the offending comment by me, DG, or by the Site's other administrator, mikster.

Above all, remember to have fun while doing this: these rules are not meant to curb your participation but to make it better and more fufilling for you and anyone else that wishes to get involved.
