Antarctic Book List.
This list of books is almost directly from an old book
list that the Antarctica NZ library had considered as good
general reading for those interested in Antarctica. They are not
necessarily specific to New Zealand bookstores but they may be
easier to locate if in New Zealand. Many of the older books are
well out of print and inquiries should be made to your local
library about their availability for borrowing. Antarctica NZ in
Christchurch NZ is a great place to start but I hear that this
resource is being shut down and many of the books are going to
Canterbury University. Contact Antarctica New Zealand and find
out.

(10) | The GREENPEACE Book of Antarctica |
The Reader's Digest book ANTARCTICA: "Great Stories from the Frozen Continent " gives a good overview of the different expeditions. On top of that, there is a vast number of publications of diaries by members of various expeditions from the "heroic age" of Antarctic exploration. They are quite fun to read since they tell more of the day to day routine and differ significantly from the official reports.
