my answer is this. i've always liked boxing, but I never had a favorite boxer, until now. El Feroz, Ferocious Fernando Vargas is my favorite boxer, and so i decided to put this site up because there aren't enough Fernando Vargas Websites, and this way, hopefully Fernando can see that he has many fans who do support him and are with him through thick and thin. Through the tough losses and through the ass kickings that he dishes out.
I also believe that Fernando is doing the Mexican/American community good by representing his heritage to the fullest, and myself being Hispanic, only makes him that much more awsome. And what better than
to see Fernando Vargas make his ring entrance against Oscar De La Hoya with Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez at his side and his entrance song of "No me se rajar".
I used to be asked if i would ever post a picture of myself on the site, and i always responded that i would ONLY post a picture of myself when i took one with Fernando. (top) Me and Fernando Vargas in San Antonio. ;)
UPDATE!!! If you thought my story with Fernando and how things happen for a reason was crazy enough, here's one more for you fans. Just before his bout with Joval in Corpus Christi, Fernando was chatting on Maxboxing.com, and one lucky fan was to be chosen to get a phone call from Fernando himself. I signed on late and alittle ways in, I get a private message from the moderator asking me if I wanted to get a call from Vargas. I freaked out asking if it was a joke and he said nope. after Fernando finished chatting with fans, my phone rang and it was one of the Maxboxing.com writers and Fernando!!! I freaked out a bit cause it felt surreal. I was in shock and even the dude told me, here is your chance to ask Fernando something in person, and I did. Fernando sounded tired and after a bit I said to him, "I don't know if you know who this is Fernando, but this is Orly." " OH SHIT!!! WHAT'S UP ORLY!?!?" Was Fernando's reply. ;)
