CIVIL WAR VETERANS - John B. Salling
Biography:
John B. Salling was born May 15, 1846 near Slant, Scott County, Virginia. Although his birthdate is now in dispute, being born in 1858 instead of 1846, it's safe to say he was ONE of the last surviving members of the Civil War, if not THE last surviving member. He died in Kingsport, Tennessee on March 15, 1959.
