I've reviewed three short films I saw in Filmmaking 210, "Night Cries :
A Rural Tragedy", "Blue City" and "Kitchen Sink". I reviewed a wonderful
Japanese film I just happened upon being sold at West Coast Video one day,
called "Angel Dust" (Enjeru Dasuto). I also reviewed a film I love called
"Time Indefinite", simply put - a reality of fantasy, an artistic achievement
to the highest degree. And I hit it big arguing with both the screenwriter
and an avid fan of "Truth or Consequences, N.M.", due to the scathing review
I wrote regarding it's supreme god-awfulness.

I write for Temple University Ambler's bi-weekly newspaper. So far, I'm
a campus hero.
[9/5/04: If you click on the first drop bar and select "Movie Reviews By Ben Trout", you can read capsules of Apt Pupil, Pleasantville, Happiness, Life is Beautiful, The Imposters and a full length review of American History X. Major hyperbole alert in effect. (Also, I was pretty fucking high on myself.)]

The guy who maintains this site, Kirk, lets me drop my lists on him. I've
attempted many times to shoot reactions over, but have been marginally
unsuccessfull...(not that I'm bitter)
[Eventually he did, to mixed results; The following links:
However, he printed the following :
- 2002 Philadelphia Festival of World Cinema (not that I'm proud of covering a festival where Atanarjuat (The Fast Runner) won anything)
- Year in review, 2002 (I contributed Daughter from Danang and Frida, as well as some end of the year moments)
- Year in review, 1999 (I contribued American Beauty)
- The Thin Red Line
- Gangs of New York and 25th Hour ]
[No longer posted; I think because I was the only one who included John Ford's The Informer (or something).]
