The Draughtsmen's Contract (B+)(12/3)
Peter Greenaway, 1982.

Burn After Reading (B)(12/6)

Love Actually (B+) (12/11)
Richard Curtis, 2003.

Le Doulos (A-) (12/12)
Jean-Pierre Melville, 1962.

Belmondo turning off suspenseful music revealed to be on the radio later in the scene; the cold cruelty; 180' spin when all is revealed; the fatalism - see it from a long way off, just like Maurice and Silean's long walk to the house in Tropierry. Melville's characters are just simultaneously fascinating and execrable. These are men you just can't read: The filmmakers POV is only heightened by this.

WALL•E (B+) (12/27)
Andrew Stanton, 2008.
