The subida al Naranco is a one day clasis that, after a route through the centre of Asturias, where are climbed little ports (Padrn, Manzaneda, etc.) finishes at the top of Monte Naranco, wich is beside Oviedo. The race is organized by Club Ciclista Aramo and in last years was disputed at the end of the season, being turned into a test for World Championship, before it was run in San Mateo Fiesta in Oviedo. From this year the race will be disputed in June.
A remarkable feature in this race is that time used to climb the ascent to Naranco is taking into account. The recordholder is Iban Mayo with 12 minutes and 7 seconds established in 2004. |
