Gymnocorymbus Ternetzi
AKA Black Widow or Black Skirt

This is another wonderful community fish from South America.  It has a peaceful nature and gets along with everyone.  Flake foods are readily accepted as is most frozen foods.  These fish like lots of plants to rest or hide in.  It seems to use the whole tank from bottom to top it does not stay in one region.  There are three varieties the other two are Albino and Long fin.  You may see blue or pink skirts in the pet stores but this is NOT a color that appears in nature.  These fish are injected with a die to color them and the color will fade over time.  It is not a good idea to get these colored fish, it seems the die weakens the fish and makes them more susceptible to parasites.
