Fragments of Inspiration

Fan Fiction Fragments and Ideas by Chronos the Cat

Author's Note: I have more story ideas than I'll ever have time to write. Rather than keeping them to myself, I have decided to share some of them so others might have a change to take them up. If you wish to work with one of these ideas, all I ask is that you credit me, and let me know where I can read the finished product.

Some series inspire me to craft many stories; others only give me a few ideas. Below are story ideas for those series that didn't produce enough ideas to be worth a separate page. Links lead to story fragments or plots I deemed large enough to post at Fanfiction.net.

Batman: "Gothic"

What if we took the "Goth" in "Gotham" a bit more seriously?

Dragonball: Legend of the Monkey King”

What if the events of Dragonball(/z/gt) had happened hundreds of years ago (minus the high-tech) and was the inspiration for "Journey to the West"? How would things go differently if the story were set in the middle ages?

(Note: could crossover w/ Inu Yasha and other stuff set in feudal times.)

Dragonball: “Be Careful What You Wish For”

Despite the name, it has nothing to do with the wishing to the Eternal Dragon. Instead, the premise is this: what if Jakie Chun (Master Roshi) had gotten the chance to fight Ran Fuan?

Dragonball Z: “No Use Crying Over Spilled Ginyu”

What if the body-switching madness involving Captain Ginyu had been more extensive than even in the Anime version? And what if, before everyone could be switched back to their proper bodies, Captain Ginyu's mind (and with it his powers) had been killed?

Duck Tales: Goldie McDuck” (Inspired by stories by Carl Barks and Don Rosa)

Scrooge earned the seed of his fortune in the Yukon in his claim in White Agony Valley, near Dawson City. He found a huge hunk of gold, the Goose Egg Nugget. When "Glittering" Goldie O'Gilt drugged Scrooge and stole the nugget along with some hoodlums, Scrooge fought the hoodlums and got the gold back, then kidnapped Goldie and took her to his claim to work with him for a month.

Goldie and Scrooge came to admire one another, but could never admit it. However, when Goldie tried to steal the Goose Egg again, she found that Scrooge kept a lock of her hair in his safe-box. She relented on her plan, and tried to get along with him, resulting in a huge fight and a night of passion. The next day, Scrooge told Goldie to head back to Dawson (afraid she'd be too much of a distraction). Hurt, Goldie headed out without the nugget, and the two barely spoke to each other again until decades later...

...But what if Scrooge and Goldie had admitted their feelings for one another, and forged a lasting relationship?

(Note: Another good divergence point would be a little later, when Scrooge doesn't open a letter from her that told him of her feelings.)

Harry Potter What Ifs:

- What if Harry had joined Slytherin? Persecuted by Snape, and without Ron, Hermione, and Neville as friends, he turns to darkness... A new dark lord arises, less evil but far more powerful than Voldemort - Harry Potter!

- What if the poly-juice potion permanently turned Hermione into a catgirl?

- What if a magic/potions accident turned Harry, Ron, or Draco into a girl?

- something involving keeping the fake Moody around... either Harry joining forces with him, or him deciding to stay under cover rather than attempting to kill Harry.

Pokemon: "Pokepocalypse" -

Something has happened to the Pokemon World, killing off human kind. Tale of pokemon generations later. Possibly adventure w/ clues to fate of mankind. Possibly told w/out translations of Pokemon cries.

Power Puff Girls: Sci-Fi PPG:

PPG are androids or artificial life-forms of some sort, and Mojo is a mutant. Villains and stories all follow pseudo-scientific rules. Setting mildly futuristic.

Power Puff Girls: Fantasy PPG:

When one of Utonium the Magician's alchemical experiments goes wrong, the Kingdom of Townsville gains a new set of protectors, the Powerpuff Girls! Ordinary villains don't stand a chance against these heroes! But, when the Princess of the Kingdom of Morebucks recruits the evil Sorcerer Mojo Jojo to summon a demon to grant her the power to defeat the PPG, they accidentally free Him. Can even the PPG defeat the lord of the Netherworld?

Super Mario: "Mushroom Kingdom of the Undead"

When Bowser is killed in a battle with Mario, a war breaks out between the Koopalings over who is to be the new Koopa King (or Queen). Seeking power for himself, Kamek the Magikoopa brings Bowser back as a zombie, using him as a figurehead. Soon Zombie Bowser has taken control of the Koopas, and sets out to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom. Although most of the Koopas remain alive, those that oppose him and aren't killed in battle are turned to zombies.

...However, things get really out of control when it turns out that Mushroom People don't become zombies when bitten by one, but instead transform into free-willed Mushroom Vampires! (Or something like that.)

Teen Titans: "That's so Raven"

As story that would fit that title. Possible ideas: Raven as a "valley girl" (alt universe where started such? some mind-altering event?) / Raven as a precog (possibly with other elements of the “That's So Raven” show).

TMNT: "Bebop & Rocksteady: Masterminds"

What if the Classic Cartoon's mutagen was more like the Movie/Comic's and generally led to an increase in intelligence - and resulted in Bebop and Rocksteady becoming evil geniuses?

Through the above or some other method, Bebob and Rocksteady become the masterminds of the Foot operations, but continue to play the fool to keep this fact hidden.

X-Men What Ifs:

What if Jean Grey had chosen Wolverine instead of Cyclops?

What if when Scott cheated on Jean, they broke up and Jean went to Logan?

Zelda:Four Loves”

Link can't decide between Zelda, Malon, Ruto, or Saria; so he uses the Four Sword to split himself!
