Dawn Tyler Blues Projecy - Ten Dollar Dress (2002)

Usually when I review an album, I hear it, before I see the artist Live. However, in the Case of Dawn Tyler Watson, it happened the other way around. It was a hot summers afternoon in Ottawa, at the Accoustic Tent of the Cysco Systems Bluesfest. The whole atmosphere was open, and relaxed when she took the stage. My first reaction to Dawn Tyler Watson on stage was "Oh My God! This Girl is Good!". To coin a badly over used phrase "She Blew Me Away".

My second thought was "If she can translate the stage energy to the CD, It must be one hell of a CD". Then later that night, back at the B & B, I listened to the CD for the first time, and realized she did! From that moment, I was a confirmed Dawn Tyler Watson Fan!

To give you an indication of just how talented this young woman is, bear this in mind. Ten Dollar Dress is Dawn Tyler Watsons first album. The Album was nominated for several Maple Blues Awards. She wrote all but one song, and She co-produced the album.

I will go on record to say "Dawn Tyler Watson is one of the most talented new artists I have ever had the pleasure to witness. Her talent is rivaled only by her potential. She has a very bright future."

If you buy only one Blues CD this year, it must be Ten Dollar Dress.
