Dungarvan - The Old Dungarvan Oak (2004)

I have always believed that music isn't something you perform, it is something you share. There is, in each true musician, a gift to perform and a desire to share that gift, be it in a crowded stadium, a smokey downtown bar, or in a small room full of friends. With that in mind, some music's just cry out to be shared. That is the essence of Newfoundland folk music.

If I were asked to describe Dungarvan, and the contents of this album, that is how I would do it.

This is an album done by a talented group of musicians, who'se love for their craft is unmistakable. On it, they are performing a varied selection of time worn classic's, mixed with modern original's. But it is not just another CD of Newfoundland music.

Dungarvans style is drawn from generations of folk music, inspired by Irish, American and Newfoundland influences, and infused with an energy that can best be described as infectious.

Get a copy of the Old Dungarvan Oak, and you will see (and Hear) what I mean!
