Shamrock - Off The Floor

In the Pictorial Dictionary, under "Party Band", there should be a picture of these guys! A 4 peice band (consisting of Ken Batten, his 2 sons Tony and Chris, and family friend Derm Eason) steeped in the grand old tradition of the Newfoundland Kitchen Party, Shamrock have released what is probably the definative Newfoundland Good Time album with "Off The Floor".

In a time when many artists are labouring over multi-tracked retakes, and massive mixes for their CD's, Shamrock have taken their own road to success by staying true to their roots. First and foremost, they are a live band. Playing house parties and small venue gigs, with the occasional folk festival thrown in for good measure. Almost entirely recorded in one take, each song on "Off the Floor" is a true reflection of what you will get should you go out and see Shamrock perform live.

If you can't get to a Newfoundland Kitchen Party to see Shamrock Live, then "Off The Floor" is the next best thing.
