David Gogo - Live at Deer Lake (2003)

Subtitled as the 'Official Bootleg Series - Volume 1', Live at Deer Lake was released by David Gogo as a result of his show being bootlegged. What followed was a series of misadventures that saw the album nominated for a Juno award, then disqualified on a technicality. What is lost in all this is the fact the Live at Deer Lake is an excellent album.

A fine example of David Gogo's live performances, the album features several old blues classics done Gogo style, including his soulful treatment of James Brown's classic "It's a Mans World", and Willie Dixon's "Hoochie Coochie Man". But let's not forget that David Gogo is also an excellent songwriter in his own right, and his originals are bext experienced live!

'Live at Deer Lake' is proof positive that David Gogo is second to none. His live performance, be it cover's or original's, will leave you breathless! If you can't get out to see him live, this album will have to make a suitable substitute, but nothing can replace the thrill of catching David Gogo, in person!
