Pamela Morgan - Ancestral Songs (2005)

Newfoundland has a Rich oral tradition, the passing of songs and stories from one generation to the next. In her early days as part of the legendary Newfoundland folk group Figgy Duff, Pamela Morgan traveled the length and breath of this province, in search of songs and stories from that tradition.

During her travels, she found a rich tapestry of music that has followed her for years. It is finally time for her to share those songs, in the form of her new album, Ancestral Songs. This is an accoustic album, featuring Pamela's rich and beautiful voice, accompanied by her lush guitar style.

This is a wonderful collection of wenches and rouges, fishermen and farmers, lords and ladies, each with their tales to tell. From the first gentle strum of the guitar, Pamela holds you spell boung, as only she can. Her voice carries you to distant times on familiar shores, surrounded by the folk of this great and mysterious land.

There are great Newfoundland albums, recordings that needed to be made. This is one of them!

In a word, Brilliant!
