Newly Single
CHLOE Sevigny has split with her longtime boyfriend, Matt McAuley of the band A.R.E. Weapons. "It just wasn't working out," says a friend of Sevigny who called the breakup "mutual." The saucer-eyed indie ingenue is off enjoying her new-found freedom with old friend Tara Subkoff in Greece, where the Imitation of Christ designer is showing some of her haute-couture at an art exhibit. Sevigny fans can look
forward to seeing her in Woody Allen's "Melinda and Melinda" this fall and in the HBO series "Big Love" next year, in which she plays one wife of a Utah polygamist opposite Bill Paxton.

Sighting
Many boldface ladies showed up at the furrier DENNIS BASSO's show at Cipriani the other day
Oh, there's Chloe Sevigny, who came with her mom. Ms. Sevigny's hair is as severe as a school marm's, but she's fun. (Well, if you've seen "The Brown Bunny," we don't have to tell you that.) Ever get fur as a gift?
"No, but I've been given a few furs in my time. By companies, not romances. Maybe if I had a wealthy boyfriend, but all of my boyfriends have been on the less wealthy side. The struggling artist types.'' Beat. "I go for those types. They're my types.'' Beat. "I don't mind being the provider. I'm a modern woman.''

New Role
Chloe will reunite with fellow "Kids" co-star Rosario Dawson and be directed by Larry Clark again in "Wassup Rockers."
The film will shoot in Los Angeles this summer and Palm plans to release the movie next year, with Fortissimo handling foreign sales. "The film will feature South Central LA street kids in the leading roles and  will follow the real life story of a group of largely Hispanic teenagers from South Central who - instead of conforming to the hip hop culture of their neighborhood - ride skateboards, listen to punk rock and wear their clothes tight." Echoing Clark's "Kids," the company has described the movie as a "Warriors"-type movie set on skateboards.
