• Her parents were killed in a car accident. Shiho and her sister were brought up by the secret organisation. She was to finish off her parents' work - research and development on APTX4869 (the drug that claims to stop body from producing more cells). The two sisters worked for the organisation, until on one assignment, as her sister was about to be captured by the police, her sister was killed by other members of the organisation. Shiho stopped her research on the drug as a protest, then taken the drug APTX4869 herself in the hope of suicide. To her surprise, she was alive. She then realised that Shinichi (who happen to be the only person that has taken the drug and no body remains were found) might also be alive. She was found unconsious by Dr. Agasa in front of Shinichi's house.
