As his regular handler, it was a thrill being part of
this lovely boy's show career. On the journey to his title, he
picked up some lovely Breed and Group wins, culminating in his
Best Exhibit in Show in October 2000. This win made Aztec the
first ever wholecolour Cavalier to win Best in Show at an all
breeds championship show in South Australia. Aztec's superb
reach and drive made him a joy to watch on the move, and his
luscious head could melt the coldest heart. Aztec was
also four time winner of the Best Ruby trophy at Cavalier
specialties.
He is
sire of several beautiful Chelport litters, producing Ch
Chelport Black Velvet, her litter brother Indian Red
and sister Black Orchid, Chelport Night Fever and his younger siblings
Ch C Sunsetter,
Shadow Dancing, Shine
Shine and Songbird.

My big red marshmallow!
Indy won a number of In Group awards, several excellent
Best of Breeds (Champ shows) and a nice Specialty placing during his show career. His parents are
Aztec (above), and the Best in Group winning Bailey, and his litter sisters are the
Specialty RCC and multiple BOB winner Ch Chelport Black
Velvet JD AD, and the multi Neuter in Group winner Chelport Black
Orchid. Indiana's show career was cut short when an intruder
to my home caused a serious injury to Indy's leg in May
2003. After months of TLC and physiotherapy, Indy returned
to the ring with a nice win, but was never again to move as
freely as he should have. He is now retired from showing,
and is my "pillow dog".
