June 1579

Francis David was brought here from his trial in Gyulafehervar and placed in a dungeon cell of the castle to serve his life prison term. This turned out to be only another 5 months. (See November 1579 below.)

November 1579

Francis David died in the castle's dungeon. His burial place is unknown. In 1910 a plaque dedicated to David was placed on the castle wall by the Unitarian church.
