Death is the return to the state before conception.
When I was 8 years old, I had a dream in which I died crashing a flying schoolbus. I woke up and was frightened, but after much though, I was able to put the fear of death behind me.
Before I was born, I was not alive, yet that thought troubles me not one bit. After I die, I will return to the state not unlike the one I was in before I was born. Since I am not afraid of the time before I was born, why should I afraid of the time after I die?
When I am alive, I am not dead. When I am dead, I will not have the consciousness to be afraid.
Thoughts Index | HomepageHappiness is the result of the right thing at the right time.
Good things can cause unhappiness, and bad things can cause happiness.
Imagine, for instance, the day that someone discovers a cure for cancer. For most of us, this would great news! For those who had only recently lost loved ones to cancer, however, this would be devastating.
Thoughts Index | HomepageLove is giving without expecting.
Love is simple. Care enough about someone to learn about her dreams for herself and help her make progress towards them. Back away if one is more hindrance than help.
Thoughts Index | HomepagePerfection is the state of having nothing to hide.
Perfection is not the absence of flaws or mistakes, but the absence of anything that needs to be concealed.
What needs to be concealed is in large part subjective. Therefore, there are two paths to perfection. I can change what I do or am, or I can stop caring about what others think about what I do or am. One path is not necessarily better than the other, and the paths are not mutually exclusive.
Thoughts Index | HomepageReality is subjective.
Reality is understood through the filter of personal experience and thus varies from individual to individual. Do not be too quick to reject (or accept) the reality of another.
