Harry O'Brien gathered crews of oarsmen, decked them out in Oxford and Cambridge
blues, and formed the Argonaut Rowing Club.

First Argonaut football club was started under the guidance
of head coach H.T. Glazebrook. Argonauts play one
game in 1873 against the University of Toronto, and two against the
Hamilton Tigers.

Ontario Rugby Football Union was formed. Under the direction
of coach A.H. Campbell, the Argonauts defeat U of T 23-4, and Ottawa
City
9-7, to win the championship.
