Led by "The Ordinary Superstar" Johnny Rodgers, the
Alouettes win the Grey Cup by defeating the Edmonton Eskimos 20-7 in Vancouver.

|
The Alouettes play their first game in their new home of OLYMPIC
STADIUM in front of 68,505 fans.

November 27, 1977
|
In front of a record crowd of 68,318 spectators who braved a
snowstorm and a public transportation breakdown to get to the Grey Cup game
at OLYMPIC
STADIUM, the Alouettes defeated the Edmonton Eskimos 41-6 and win
their fourth Grey Cup. That season, the Alouettes established a CFL record
drawing 476,201 total spectators to the games.

The Alouettes fold. The CFL gives Montreal a new franchise and the
Alouettes become the Montreal Concordes.

The Concordes re-named the Alouettes for the club’s 40th anniversary (1946).

Baltimore granted expansion
franchise.

Baltimore Stallions’ owner Jim
Speros moves his team to Montreal and in honour of the 50th
Anniversary of the founding of the Alouettes, re-names them the Alouettes.

Bob Wetenhall buys the Montreal
Alouettes’ franchise. Larry Smith, former
CFL Commissioner and former Montreal Alouettes’
player, is named President and Chief Executive Officer.

The Montreal Alouettes play their first game in ten years at
OLYMPIC
STADIUM.

|
Owing to a scheduling conflict with musical group U2 playing a
rock concert at OLYMPIC
STADIUM, the Alouettes must play their home playoff game at Percival MOLSON
STADIUM at McGill University. A crowd of 16,252 spectators see the
Alouettes defeat the B.C. Lions 45-35.

STADIUM, the Alouettes officially make it their permanent home.
