B.C. Lions play their first-ever game Saturday, August 28
vs. Winnipeg
in EMPIRE STADIUM. By Bailey
scored the first-ever touchdown in an 8-6 loss to the Blue Bombers. First (and only) win of the season came
September 18, with a 9-4 triumph over Calgary,
with Bailey scoring the winning touchdown.

Following an 11-2-3 season, the Lions win their first Grey Cup
against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. A
two-touchdown, two-way starring performance by Bill Munsey, Kapp and Fleming, and a touchdown from the field goal
unit led the Lions to a 34-24 victory.

1970
|
The first artificial turf in Canada was installed at Empire
Stadium.

1982
|
Team moves into BC PLACE.

1985
|
Lions defeat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 37-24 at Olympic
Stadium in Montreal
to capture their second Grey Cup championship.

1994
|
Before a home-town crowd at BC Place, and with no time
remaining, Lui Passaglia
kicks the winning field goal to give the Lions an incredible 26-23 victory
over the heavily-favoured Baltimore CFL, the
third Grey Cup in team history.

2000
|
Lions win their fourth Grey Cup, defeating the Montreal
Alouettes 28-26 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

2006
|
Lions win their fifth Grey Cup,
defeating the Montreal Alouettes 25-14 in the 94th Grey Cup in Winnipeg.

2007
|
Lions set team record with 14
wins in Regular Season.
