B.C. Lions
7 @ TORONTO ARGONAUTS 28
| TORONTO, Ontario (Ticker) -- Damon
Allen threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns and Michael Jenkins rushed
for 111 yards and caught a touchdown as the Toronto Argonauts posted a
28-7 triumph over the B.C. Lions.
With the victory, the Argonauts earned a shot at the Montreal Alouettes next Sunday. The winner of that game represents the Eastern Conference in the Grey Cup on November 16. It was a bit of sweet revenge for Allen, who was traded from the Lions to the Argonauts prior to the season. Allen found Lal Knight with a 20-yard scoring strike just before the half to give Toronto a 13-7 lead. After Noel Prefontaine got a single off a missed field goal midway through the third quarter, Allen found Jenkins with a 20-yard touchdown toss. Allen completed 15-of-24 passes for 234 yards before leaving in the fourth quarter. Marcus Brady came on for Allen and completed a 10-yard touchdown toss to Jimmy Oliver with 6:17 to go in the game. Prefontaine had two field goals, three extra points and a single. Spergon Wynn started at quarterback for B.C. after starter Dave Dickenson was injured during pregame drills. Wynn was 12-of-16 for 131 yards but was intercepted twice. |
