Larry
Highbaugh was born in Indianapolis, Indiana
on January 14th, 1950. Highbaugh attended
the University
of Indiana and was
drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1971.

Larry
Highbaugh began his CFL career in 1971 as a
defensive back for the B.C. Lions. He played 22 games with the
Lions and signed with the Edmonton Eskimos part way through the 1972
season.
|
|
Throughout
his amazing career with the Eskimos, Highbaugh
was a leader in many statistical categories. One of these records
was a 118 yard kickoff return in a game held on October 17th, 1976.
This achievement is still the second highest League record in regular
season play. Highbaugh also holds the League’s
second highest record for Most Interceptions all-time in the regular season with
66 interceptions.

Larry
Highbaugh won numerous awards and honours throughout his fourteen year CFL career
including CFL All-star honours three times, and Western All-Star four times. He also
played in nine Grey Cup games and was on the winning end six times.
He was part of the great Eskimo dynasty from 1978-1982 and has been honoured most recently on the Eskimo Wall of Honour
in 1996.
