1891

First Calgary and Edmonton home and home series.

1895

Edmonton plays first series of organized games with the formation of the Alberta Rugby Football Union.

1897

The name "Esquimaux" coined by a Calgary sportswriter.

1910

Team officially named the Edmonton Eskimos.

1921

Team plays in its first Grey Cup game.

1930

CLARKE STADIUM opens.

1951

Team sets CFL Record for Rushing, with 67 carries in one game.

1954

Team wins its first Grey Cup.

1978

Team signs Rose Bowl MVP Warren Moon to long-term contract.

Aug 30, 1978

Eskimos move into newly-built COMMONWEALTH STADIUM.

1982

Team wins CFL-Record fifth consecutive Grey Cup.

1989

Team wins CFL-Record 16 games in Regular Season.

1993

Team sets CFL Record with 13 QB sacks in one game.

Nov 17, 1996

Team sets CFL Playoff record for most points in a game, defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 68-7.

Nov 24, 1996

Team sets All-Time Grey Cup records for Appearances (21), Points-For (445), and Points-Against (497).

May, 2000

Original CLARKE STADIUM demolished.  It is rebuilt as a smaller venue and becomes the Eskimos' practice facility.

Aug 18, 2000

Team becomes only the fourth team in Pro Football history (the others being the New York Giants, the Chicago Bears, and the Green Bay Packers) to win its 500th Regular Season game, defeating the Saskatchewan Roughriders 28-22 at Taylor Field in Regina.

Oct 19, 2001

Eskimos set Professional sports franchise record, qualifying for playoffs for 30th consecutive year!

Sept 29, 2002

Eskimos defeat Hamilton 34-33 to qualify for post-season for 31st consecutive season, extending their record.

Nov 24, 2002

Eskimos set new All-Time Grey Cup records for Appearances (22), Points-For (461), and Points-Against (522).

Sept 19, 2003

By virtue of their 45-33 victory over the Ottawa Renegades, the Eskimos qualify for post-season for the 32nd consecutive year!

Oct 17, 2003

Eskimos clinch First Place in Western Division for the third year in a row. This is their 21st First Place finish since 1949.

Nov 16, 2003

Eskimos win their 12th Grey Cup, defeating the Montreal Alouettes 34-22 at Taylor Field in Regina.

Oct 15, 2005

Eskimos qualify for post-season for the 34th consecutive year, defeating the Saskatchewan Roughriders 19-18.

Nov 27, 2005

Eskimos win their 13th Grey Cup, defeating the Montreal Alouettes 38-35 at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver in only the second overtime Grey Cup game in history!

Oct 14, 2006

Eskimos miss the post-season for the first time in 35 years following a 28-25 defeat at home to the Toronto Argonauts.

Oct 26, 2007

Eskimos lose 36-29 to Saskatchewan in overtime, officially eliminating them from the playoff race for the second year in a row.  It is the first time since 1964-65 the team has missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons.  Eskimos lose their final game 21-19 in Hamilton, finishing the Regular Season with a 5-12-1 record.

Oct 31, 2008

The Eskimos return to the post-season, becoming the fifth team to qualify as a crossover team.  No crossover team has ever won a post-season game.  The final regular season game was the Eskimos' 1,000th in team history.  As of October 31, 2008 the Eskimos have posted a 582-399-19 W-L-T record (339-159-6 Home, 243-240-13 Away).  The Eskimos are only the third team in CFL history to have played 1,000 regular season games since 1946, and only the eleventh team, CFL or NFL to achieve this feat.  In all of pro-football history, the Eskimos have the highest winning percentage: .592.  Their 582 wins ranks fourth in all of pro football history behind the Chicago Bears (680), Green Bay Packers (641) and New York Giants (612).

Nov 8, 2008

Eskimos become the first crossover team to win Semi-final playoff game, defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 29-21.
